Development League
THRIVE Development Basketball League (TDL) provides an exceptional opportunity for boys and girls in Grades 5 to 8 to enhance their basketball skills in a supportive environment. Focused on introducing essential basketball rules and team concepts such as offense, defense, and overall basketball IQ, our league encourages players to deepen their understanding of the game through modified settings that promote collaboration, teamwork, and sportsmanship. We embrace the philosophy of learning to play to play, allowing players to develop vital skills that are actively applied on the court.
Our league features dedicated referees, scorekeepers, and coaches to guide players throughout their journey. Players are divided into teams for each division to play against one another. Teams will compete in a round-robin format, with scores and standings meticulously tracked for every game. Players in Grades 5 to 8 will play on a standard 10-foot hoop, providing an appropriate challenge for each age group. Each game consists of 25 and 20-minute running time halves to maximize playtime and encourage development. Substitute occurs ever 5 minutes. At the end of the season, the team with the most wins will earn championship medals, and one standout player will be recognized as the Most Valuable Player.
